In April 2013, the French National Railways (SNCF) launched a new TGV service called "OUIGO" [wiˈɡo]. Given the success of the low-cost TGV connections, it was decided to apply the same concept to traditional train services. The first "OUIGO Classic" services were put into service in spring 2022.
Nine BB 22200 series locomotives provide traction for the trains and were given the eye-catching livery. The rolling stock consists of 2nd-class Corail carriages. As part of the redesign, these were given a storage space for two bicycles at one end of the carriage.
