Sound electric locomotive EP09 PKP VI AC version, including PIKO sound decoder
New in 2024: With the implementation of the EP09 as a mass-produced model, PIKO is fulfilling a heartfelt wish of many model railroaders - and not only in Poland. The implementation of the characteristically angular prototype in the model has been successful in the usual high quality. The smooth edges of the modern locomotive design are complemented by fine details. The finest engravings, plastic fan replicas as well as a highly detailed roof design and small-scale bogies characterize the PIKO Expert model. Thanks to its high weight and a perfectly coordinated drive concept, the locomotive has high tractive power, which is further optimized by the digital decoder integrated ex works. The model is rounded off by the clean, prototypical paintwork and the elaborate printing. The model has a PSD XP sound decoder with the largest possible loudspeaker ex works.
The model bears the "fits mfx®" quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliable for all users of the current Märklin digital control centers, a new quality mark "fits mfx®" was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the quality mark "fits mfx®", which certifies the unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the "fits mfx®" logo now also fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
