In 2019, BLS Cargo decided to expand its existing Vectron fleet of around 15 locomotives by 25 machines. In addition to the country packages for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands, the new locomotives now also include Belgium. Visually, the locomotives differ mainly in the redesigned design on the sides. The design moves a little closer to their slogan "The Alpinists" and shows mountaineers at lofty heights in the impressive Swiss mountains. We dedicate the chosen operating number Re 475 425 to the Re 425 fleet, which has been replaced by the new Vectron locomotives, thus sending a real Swiss locomotive into retirement.
